Passholders should use code *TCM2024 upon checkout to receive $5.00 off up to two (2) Adult General Admission tickets to the Academy Museum for visits between April 15-21, 2024. The Hollywood Heritage Museum is housed in the beautifully restored Lasky-DeMille Barn (c. 1895). The Museum features archival photographs from the early film days of motion picture production, movie props, historic documents, and other rare movie memorabilia. Also featured are historic photos and postcards of the streets, buildings, and residences of Hollywood during its golden era.
All visitors will have an opportunity to experience our new exhibit, “Meet The Stars: 100 Years of MGM Studios and the Golden Age of Hollywood” which opens on Saturday, April 6th. The exhibition culls from the private collections of over 20 motion picture memorabilia collectors to display artifacts of the Golden Age of Hollywood – many items unseen by the public for decades. We are excited to be celebrating the 100th anniversary of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), the studio that made some of the most enduring motion pictures, such as 1939’s dazzling fantasy-musical, THE WIZARD OF OZ and MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS (1944), both starring Judy Garland, as well as revered silents BEN-HUR (1925) and THE BIG PARADE (1925). The exhibit is concurrent with the dates of the Turner Classic Movies Film Festival and will offer some tie-ins that correlate to the festival’s themes and programming.
